Thailand: Tax breaks used on $42.7 bn worth of exports in 7 months

Thai exporters used tax incentives from the free trade agreement (FTA) and generalised system preference or GSP worth US$42.7 billion (Bt1.38 trillion) in the first seven months of this year – up 18.95 per cent from the same period of this year, Adul Chotinisakorn, director-general of the Department of Foreign Trade of the Commerce Ministry said yesterday.

He added that of the total export value of US$42.7 billion in the first seven months of this year, $39.97 billion came under FTA agreements, with GSP agreements accounting for the balance of US$2.73 billion.
