Vietnam: Online Vo So platform sells food in HCM City
After HCM City resumed operation of goods delivery services on August 31, Viettel Post and Vo So e-commerce platform opened an “online market” to provide food and essential goods for people at hcm.voso.vn.
The market meets the demand for goods of the most populous city in the country, especially amid the complicated epidemic situation.
To buy food, people should visit hcm.voso.vn, choose the items they need, and fill in the delivery address and pay online.
Vo So has a variety of green vegetable and fruit combos with many prices, starting from VND109,000. The combos include melon, zucchini, eggplant, cucumber, pumpkin, gourds, oranges, pineapples…
When placing an order, the buyer will receive a free shipping offer (up to 10kg) to any address in Ho Chi Minh City. The goods will be delivered to their door within 1-2 days. Vo So also applies a 100% co-check policy and a 1 to 1 exchange commitment if the product is not of good quality.
Tran Trung Kien, Vo So platform director, said: “Following the direction of the HCM City Department of Industry and Trade, we aim to optimize the selling price and shipping costs for consumers. Vo So is committed to keeping the selling price lower than the market price but still ensuring the best product quality to serve all people.”
Vo So directly purchases fruit and vegetables from farms in Lam Dong, Dong Thap, Hau Giang and other areas. They are fully certified for food hygiene and safety.
Like other localities under social distancing, the delivery process in HCM City is performed by Viettel Post, which has a network of post offices and staff covering all wards and communes.
More than 400 postal staff of Viettel Post have been issued travel permits, are fully vaccinated with two doses of Covid-19 vaccines, are equipped with protective gear while working, and adhere to “contactless delivery”.
On the first day of operation, Vo So received more than 11,000 orders. Vo So and Viettel Post can supply 150-200 tons of goods per day in the city.
A similar service will be provided to people in the southern province of Binh Duong, another Covid epicenter in Vietnam.
