Thailand: Vietnam Week at Central highlights bilateral ties

Central Group and Central Retail Vietnam have linked up with Vietnam’s Industry and Trade Ministry to host Vietnamese Week in Thailand 2019, under the theme “Taste of Vietnam”.

Yesterday’s opening ceremony for the event was presided over by Vietnam’s Deputy Industry Minister Do Thang Hai, Thailand’s Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit and Nguyen Hai Bang, Vietnam’s ambassador to Thailand.

“We highly appreciate this effort and would like to thank the Commerce Ministry of Thailand, Central Group and other related parties for their support in organising the event,” said Mr Hai.

Mr Jurin said as Thailand is Vietnam’s largest trading partner in Asean, he was confident business and trade between the two countries have unlimited opportunities for growth.

He reiterated there is cooperation between the governments and the private sector to fully promote trade and investment between the two countries.

“This event is a fine example of public and private organisations joining forces to expand business potential for both big and small firms to grow in overseas markets. In the process, they attain both economic benefits and enhanced bilateral relations,” said Mr Jurin.

Jariya Chirathivat, executive vice-president for business development at Central Group, said Vietnamese Week has become a significant annual event for Central Group and Central Retail Vietnam.

“The event, now in its fourth year, is an opportunity for Vietnamese companies to study the market and distribution channels in Thailand, as well as meet Thai entrepreneurs and customers directly, to see opportunities for further trade and investment,” she said.
