Myanmar minimum wage to be raised soon
The National Committee for Setting a Minimum Wage will soon announce a new minimum wage, according to an announcement by the Labour Ministry.
The last time the minimum was increased was on 14 November 2018 when the minimum wage was set at 4,800 kyats a day. This will be the third time that the National Committee for Setting a Minimum Wage has increased the minimum wage.
The Ministry of Labour also said that it was also working on policies that will ensure Myanmar migrant workers have full labour rights and incentives to get labour-intensive industries to locate in Myanmar
