Myanmar: Govt to give K40,000 per household in July and August

The government of Myanmar will provide K40,000 to each of over 5.4 million households with unregular income across the country: K20,000 in late July and the other K20,000 in late August, according to U Zaw Htay, Director-General of the Ministry of State Counsellor Office.

When providing financial assistance, the government will pay the families in Pubbathiri Township in Naypyidaw, Kalaw Township in Shan State, and Miktila in Mandalay via mobile payment as a pilot project.

In April, the government also provided five necessary food supplies to over 4 million families using over K50 million fund.

Then, it, from June 27 to July 12, provided K15,000 to each of the 1.4 million families who did not get the food supplies from the government in the first place.
