Lazada aims to double sales in Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — Southeast Asia’s biggest e-commerce portal Lazada is aiming to double its sales in the Philippines this year with the launch of LazMall which seeks to offer a premium shopping experience.

“Our ambition is to grow, to double the business this year at least,” Lazada Philippines chief executive officer Ray Alimurung said. 

He said the launch of LazMall within the Lazada platform would allow the company to achieve the goal this year. 

LazMall provides shoppers all they have ever wanted in their online shopping. 

In particular, it sells only authentic and original branded products. 

In the event shoppers receive non-authentic products, Lazada commits to give shoppers twice their money back. 

Aside from selling 100 percent guaranteed authentic products, LazMall also has a 15-day hassle-free return policy for shoppers who are not completely satisfied with their purchase. 

LazMall also promises next day delivery for shopping within Metro Manila for now. 

Alimurung said the next day delivery would be expanded to other parts of the country later on.

“Shoppers that are looking for this premium experience will be enticed to visit the site more. It will also be easier for us to work with the brands because there is different visibility options in the mall,” he said. 

He said Lazada currently has 100 million site visits per month. 

He also said the number of sellers in the country which is at 20,000 at present, is also growing rapidly per month. 

Apart from growing the business, Lazada is also expanding with the opening of a warehouse facility in Davao within the year. 

At present, Lazada has warehouse facilities in Laguna and Cebu.
