Indonesia pledges to boost inclusive growth in Indo-Pacific region

The Indonesian Government is committed to promoting inclusive and sustainable growth not only in the country, but also in the Indo-Pacific and ASEAN regions, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

Jakarta (VNA) – The Indonesian Government is committed to promoting inclusive and sustainable growth not only in the country, but also in the Indo-Pacific and ASEAN regions, according to Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.

This commitment is manifested in Indonesia’s efforts to establish good relations and strengthen economic cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally, including its involvement in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF).

Speaking at the Indo-Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Forum in Nusa Dua Bali on March 18, Airlangga said that IPEF partners are united by a vision to innovate and bring new ideas to foster cross-border trade as well as cooperation in existing approaches.

Stressing that the Indo-Pacific region is a driver of the world’s economic growth, he said the proactive engagement of stakeholders is the essence of the new framework, and IPEF member countries are aware of its important role in creating conditions that enable the private sector to participate in realising economic transformation.

Indonesia is determined to ensure that the IPEF provides full benefits in terms of generating jobs, building an innovation ecosystem, and increasing productivity for more inclusive and sustainable growth, the coordinating minister added./.
