Indonesia: Grab Puts Stickers on Its Vehicles to Support Government Rules

TEMPO.COJakarta – The application-based transportation company, Grab Indonesia, supports the government to ensure that the driver-partner puts the special rent-labeled stickers on its vehicles.

The sticker installation is one of the provisions stipulated in the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 108 on the implementation of non-route public transport.

Managing Director of Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata said that he had a dialogue with the Minister of Transportation about technical problems of the driver-partner in the field.

In the meeting, the government gave a solution so that each driver-partner can qualify the regulations.

“Grab is committed to fully support the regulations which will take effect on February 1,” Ridzki said in a press release on Saturday, January 27.

Not just the rules at the central government, but with local government that is affordable for Grab transport services. “The driver-partner and the user community are our top priorities,” he said.

Ministry of Transportation previously issued the Ministerial Regulation No. 108/2017 which will be applied in February. The regulation includes various provisions, such as the necessity of putting stickers, limits on vehicle quotas, and upper/lower tariff on online transport services.
