Thailand: Deadly bomb attacks target Thai tourist resorts
Friday, 12 August 2016 – A series of explosions has killed at least three people and injured dozens more – including several tourists – in southern Thailand.
One of the worst attacks appears to have taken place in the resort town of Hua Hin, where one person was killed and more than 20 others wounded, including nine foreign tourists. The blast, which the Bangkok Post reports was a “double-tap” attack, with two blasts occurring 20 minutes apart from each other, took place in a busy bar and food stall area in the centre of the town.
A further two blasts struck the province of Surat Thani, killing one person, and one person died in an attack in the province of Trang, south of Krabi. Two explosions have also been reported in Phuket, although it is unclear how many people were impacted by these attacks. Read More?
