The night market has been opened since 2017. It has restaurants and night entertainment programmes. There are bars, and shops selling Asian foods, European foods, Indian foods, Arabic foods as well as tea shops and local food shops. Although secondhand shops for mobile phones and electrical equipment opened from 3 pm to 3 am, now they open from 3 pm to 10:30 pm because of COVID-19 crisis.
Since 2018, the former night market was handed over to the Yangon City Development Committee and it has been constructing the shops and public toilets. Now, 80 per cent of the constructions have been completed. The project is set to be completed in three years. —Thant Zaw Win (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
