Myanmar: RTAD to ease rules for expired vehicle license and driver’s license
Road Transport Administration Department (RTAD) announced that it will ease fines and other fees for overdue or expired vehicle licenses and driver’s licenses since the operations of the department have been suspended during the pandemic.
The department will relax initial registration, overdue fines, and extension of vehicle licenses and driver’s licenses during the suspension of the department’s operations.
The department will work with traffic police to address the problems of car owners having trouble with the traffic police when being stopped and having to show their expired license due to the suspension of the RTAD’s operations.
“People complained when the department continued its operations during the COVID-19 and are now asking the department to resume its operations as they want car import permits,” an auto-dealer from Thingangyun Township said.
The Department of Road Transport Administration Department suspended its operations across the country starting from the third week of September and will only resume the operations only when the pandemic is controlled.
