Myanmar: Myanma Insurance raises rates for third-party vehicle cover

Tuesday, 19 July 2016 – Myanma Insurance will raise its premium rate for third-party automobile cover from the start of August, along with its maximum level of compensation, its managing director said yesterday. Every registered car in Myanmar must have third-party insurance, which is the basic level of cover required by the Road Transport Administration Department (RTAD). Annual premium rates for basic insurance range from K2000 to K10,000 depending on the vehicle type, said managing director U Aye Min Thein. From the start of August, they will rise to between K5000 and K15,000. Read More?
